Fire propagation in a thermally thin fuel-lined duct with a parallel well-mixed forced flow
1981
Abstract This paper attempts to predict from first principles the behavior of fire propagating in slug flow in a thermally thin fuel-lined duct. The duct can lose heat to the surroundings. Extinction and acceleration limits are explored and the propagation speed calculated. The results indicate that a number of the trends observed by Roberts and Clough in thermally thick ducts are also possible in thin ducts.
