Experience of H PC on a concrete gravity dam in Bhutan

This article deals with high-performance concrete (HPC) used in the glacis of a 92m-high concrete gravity dam of Tala hydro-electric project in Bhutan. The high abrasion- and erosion-resistant concrete was designed with silica fume and its field performance monitored. Results of laboratory tests at Tala have been compared with those of the Tehri dam in India.
