PENGARUH PEMBERIAN HOLOTHURIA SCABRA TERHADAP KADAR DOCOSAHEXAENOIC ACID PADA AIR SUSU IBU DENGAN PERSALINAN PRETERM

2020
Preterm infants require breast milk with higher levels of Docoxahexaenoic Acid (DHA) to compensate for DHA deficiency that may reduce the risk of inflammatory disorders. The aim of this research is to know the giving of Holothuria scabra to the level of DHA in breast milk with preterm labor. Type of research with experimental quasi with pre-posttest with control group design. The sample in this study postpartum mother with preterm labor as many as 40 people divided into 2 groups. Postpartum mothers given Holothuria scabra capsules were the intervention group and postpartum mothers who were not given the capsules Holothuria scabra was a control group. Sampling of pre-test ASI of each group on the seventh day was then recovered seven days later by 3 cc. Provision of intervention performed for 7 days / sample with a dose of 3 times as much as 2 capsules a day. Breast milk samples will be checked with the Human DHA ELISA kit. The analysis used the Mann Whitney Test and Wilcoxon Test. The results showed that there was a difference of DHA level between the intervention group and the control group with p-value 0.006. After intervention, the average increase of 187.02 ug / ml in the intervention group and control group was 7.05 ug / ml. The maximum value of DHA levels was found in the intervention group with a value of 1151.04 ug / ml. From the results of the study it can be concluded that the group given the capsule Holothuria scabra more effective increase in DHA levels than without the capsule given Holothuria scabra. The Holothuria scabra capsules may help to influence the increase of DHA levels in breast milk with preterm labor.
