A REVIEW OF SPRAYED CONCRETE, PARTS 2 & 3

1980
The articles present a review of current practice for the application of sprayed concrete. Part 2 describes four recent projects where sprayed concrete was used, to illustrate possible applications of the process, while part 3 discusses current practice and suggests areas for further research. The four main areas for research are: properties of deposited concrete; improving uniformity of concrete; reducing dependence on operator skill; and, reducing the amount of rebound. The differences between the wet and dry processes are discussed and strengths of cores cut from sprayed test panels are tabulated. It is considered that a greater understanding is required of the properties and factors influencing the strength of the material which differs from conventional concrete in a number of ways.
