Triple therapy combined with traditional Chinese medicine for patients with gastric ulcer

2018
Objective To evaluate the effect of triple therapy combined with traditional Chinese medicine for patients with gastric ulcer (GU) . Methods 106 patients with gastric ulcer treated at our hospitals from June, 2015 to February, 2017 were randomly divided into a control group and an observation group, 53 cases for each group. The control group were treated with tinidazole tablets, clarithromycin tablets, and bismuth potassium citrate tablets; in addition, the observation group were treated with Banxia Xiexin decoction. The clinical effects of the two groups were compared. Results The total effective rate and the eradication rate of Hp were significantly higher and the recurrence rate was significantly lower in the observation group than in the control group (94.34% vs. 77.36%, χ2 = 6.290 1, P<0.05; 96.23% vs. 75.45%, χ2 = 9.396 3, P<0.05; and 3.77% vs. 18.87%, χ2 = 6.014 2, P<0.05) . The levels of IL-6 and TNF-α were lower in the observation group than in the control group (P<0.05) . Conclusions Conventional triple therapy combined with traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of gastric ulcer is effective and can effectively reduce the levels of IL-6 and TNF-α and recurrence rate, so it is worth being clinically generalized. Key words: Gastric ulcer; Tinidazole tablets; Clarithromycin tablets; Bismuth potassium citrate tablets; Banxia Xiexin decoction; IL-6; TNF-α
