Intraoperative Radiotherapy (IORT)

IORT can be used in conjunction with surgery to provide additional local disease control. In certain situations where a maximum surgical resection is the primary treatment, IORT can be used, location permitting, to deliver RT to an area of high concern for recurrence (e.g., possible positive margins).
