Serous Choroidal Detachment and the Thickened-Choroid Sign detected by Ultrasonography

1982
We studied 20 eyes of 20 consecutive patients, ranging in age from 12 to 76 years, in whom the diagnosis of serous choroidal detachment was made by ultrasonographic examination. In all 20 patients ultrasonic examination consistently demonstrated diffuse thickening of the retinochoroidal layer at the equator and posterior pole in areas of the eye where the choroid was not detached.
