AN ANALYSIS OF RESULTS FROM THE PROTOTYPE H.P.D.

1961
A brief description is given of the operation of the HoughPowell Device, an instrument for the high-speed measure ment of bubble chamber photographs using a flying spot method in which the coordinates are transmitted directly to an on- line computer. Test resuits made with the prototype device at CERN confirm that rapid, precise measurements are possible on bubble chamber pictures of normal quality. (D. L.C.)
