Interactive Timemaps for Mapping Cultural Heritage

2015
This paper explores how spatial and temporal data can be analyzed and presented in a virtual world. This research is focused on the investigation of the synchronized analysis and presentation of both spatial and temporal data at the same time in the form of timemaps. The use of collaborative, online tools on the Internet are preferable since experts from various professional fields can access and supplement data from their positions. In order to explore the practical use of timemaps, we research three cases of cultural heritage: archaeological heritage, architectural heritage and urban heritage (city genesis). Part of the research was dedicated to the use of multimedia content as a significant part of rich documentation in the heritage management process.
