Amendment in sensing response of Single Walled Carbon nanotube (SWCNT) towards ammonia gas with copper phthalocyanine functionalization

2020
Abstract The sensing of composite of two p-type materials; Single Walled Carbon nanotube (SWCNT) and Copper Phthalocyanine (CuPc) towards ammonia gas is studied. Maximum increase in response of SWCNT after CuPc functionalization has been found to be ≈ 56% with 83% increase in saturation responses. The average crystallite size corresponding to characteristic CuPc has been decreased with SWCNT doping by 44% with negligible shift in its characteristic peak corresponding to β phase. The successive intercalation of CuPc and strong π-π stacking interaction with SWCNT has been confirmed in structural, surface and spectroscopic results of SWCNT doped CuPc.
