Entwicklung keramischer Schichten mit einem Gradienten in der Porenstruktur über Zentrifugalabscheidung

1998
In comparison to asymmetric, porous membranes, ceramic layers with a continuously graded pore structure promise advantages concerning the reduction of the number of processing steps and the decrease in the membrane thickness. Possible applications for such graded layers could also be as catalysts or sensor materials, because an alteration in the adsorption/ desorption behaviour assumed from the conical pores. The processing of the above-mentioned structures in a pore range of two or three orders in ceramic layers with a thickness <1 mm is coupled with a lot of technological difficulties. This contribution shows how to solve these problems. Since conventional pore size measuring methods are only suitable to determine the distribution of the pores in the entire layer, an additional challenge can be seen in the characterization of the pore size gradient.
