Generation of a fractal terrain and its application in mobile robotics

This article presents the application of generalised derivation to the generation of fractal signals by filtering white noise in one and then two dimensions. The fractal signals thereby obtained, can be used in mobile robotics to modelise a rough terrain. The fractal dimension of these signals determines the degree of roughness.
