The development of a radiation simulator in possession of high repetitive frequency

2013
The development and experiment of a small high-repetition-frequency radiation simulator are stated in the paper. Taking double exponential pulse circuit based on hydrogen thyratron as the pulse source, applying inductive-adder technology to get higher voltage and higher repetition-frequency, adopting coaxial shielding structure's pulse source output to ensure a short rise time of the pulse and realize the linear superposition, taking a waveguide structure which is made by two parallel plates to generate EMP (electromagnetic pulse) in the working volume ,the device is developed and tested. The results of simulation and measure of E-field are given . It shows that the E-field in the working volume of the radiation simulator is almost in accordance with the linear superposition principle and the repetition frequency field is steady. The Conclusions still hold even though the parameters of hydrogen thyratrons or the grid trigger clock in the device are different from each other.
