Goal. This paper aims to present the results of the COM-VA competency domains' weight analysis in relation to the hospital care setting where the nurse is performing. Method. The data collection form included a matrix with the 6 COM-VA competencies and the different care settings. Participants were invited to weight each competency, assigning a percentage. Data analysis included descriptive statistics and central tendency measures. Significance was reached when p < 0.05. Results. 78,7% of forms were included in the final analysis. Results of each competency mean weight widely vary in relation to the care setting. Differences in competency weights for care setting are statistically significant, except for competency 1: "To care for" and 6: "Team working and changing environment adaptation". Conclusion. Competence evaluation systems should consider the specific setting- related competency weight, to gain a more adjusted and equitative performance evaluation.
