PATHOLOGICAL CHANGES IN LUMBAR-SACRAL INTERVERTEBRAL DISCS IN PROFESSIONAL ROWERS

An attempt was made to evaluate degenerative lesions in lumbal-sacral fragment of vertebral column In Professional rowers. A statistically significant group of rowers was subjected to tomographic studies. The obtained tomograms permitted to measure selected geometric parameters of intervertebral discs. The obtained results were compared to the literature data which provided normal values for healthy, not training men of a similar age. (Biol.Sport 24:375-388, 2007)
