Field emission from individual thin carbon nanotubes
2004
Individual thin carbon nanotubes with closed ends were mounted on tungsten support tips and their surfaces were thoroughly cleaned. We show these carbon nanotube electron emitters have Fowler‐Nordheim behavior and we observed no deviation from this model for thin nanotubes. The measurements were consistent with numerical simulation.
