Permeability and protein adsorption of modified charged acrylonitrile copolymer membranes

1992
Abstract Charged membranes were prepared by modification of acrylonitrile copolymer membranes with hydroxylamine, diethylaminoethyl methacrylate and sodium hydroxide. The influence of modifying agent concentration on the degree of hydrophilicity and charge density has been determined. The permeability of vitamin B 12 and the protein adsorption of the modified membranes were studied. The amount of proteins adsorbed on the membrane surface was determined only by the membrane charge, not by membrane hydrophilicity.
