Measurements of D(d,i~)~He Neutron Polarizations for Deuteron Energies from 0.87 to 5.00 MeV1
2007
Neutron time-of-flight techniques have been used to measure ~ ( d , i ) ~ H e polarization angular distributions for several deuteron energies from 0.87 to 5.00 MeV. Liquid helium served as the polarized neutron analyzer. From Legendre polynomial expansions of a(@) and P(O)a(O), contour maps of P(O) and P ( O ) a ( O ) have been produced for the energy range 0.87 to 5.00 MeV. Comparison with previous results and measurement techniques are discussed. Nucleon polarizations from the charge symmetric reactions ~ ( d , n ) ~ H e and D(d,p)T are compared.
