On two-nucleon absorption of antiprotons by complex nuclei

1983
It is shown that the antiprotons can be absorbed by correlated pairs of intranuclear nucleons, with subsequent emission of a high-energy pion and nucleon pair. The estimation of the cross-section values of this process, performed on the framework of the quasi-deuteron model, shows the possibility of experimental detection of the\(\bar p\) two-nucleon absorption process.
