Rapid response teams in teaching hospitals: Aligning efforts to improve medical education and quality

The use of RRTs in teaching hospitals raises impor-tant concerns. The ability of nurses and other profes-sionals to activate the RRT without need for priorapproval from a physician could potentially under-mine resident physician autonomy.
