Implications of Glyphosate Toxicology and Human Biomonitoring Data for Epidemiologic Research

2001
ABSTRACT Widely used pesticides, like glyphosate, have become a focus of epidemiologic research. In this review article, the authors summarize what is known about glyphosate toxicology and human exposures, as assessed through bxomonitoring, and provxdi a bxologxc perspective on epidemiologic research for this chemical. Since the highest conceivable human exposures are many orders of magnitude less than no effect levels in animal studies, it seems prudent to weigh toxicologic information heavily in interpreting epidemiologic findings for glyphosate.
