Adsorption of Wet Dilute Carbon Dioxide on an Amine-Based Resin Sorbent: Static and Dynamic Experiments

2021
To promote direct air capture technology in practical application, the effects of the moisture in air on dilute carbon dioxide (CO2) separation should be considered. Though much researches have been done from the view of adsorption equilibrium and mechanism, more attention should be paid on the dynamic adsorption performance at wet dilute CO2 source for process design. In this paper, we performed single component CO2, H2O and binary CO2/H2O adsorption experiments using both static and dynamic methods. It was found that the moisture adsorption/desorption isotherm affects the mass transfer greatly. The dynamic performance from wet air differs quite from the wet flue gas carbon capture. For further process simulation, more kinetics information under high humid condition is needed.
