Cistectomía radical en el cáncer de vejiga

2012
Radical cystectomy (RC) is the standard treatment for patients with muscle-invasive bladder cancer and non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer with either high risk of progression or failure of intravesical therapy. This technique is associated with significant morbimortality, with a prevalence of postoperative complications of 50% within 3 months of surgery. Recent interest in patients’ QoL has promoted the trend toward minimally invasive techniques such as laparoscopic RC and robotic RC, pelvic organ preservation techniques and protocols for recovery after surgery.
