Brucellosis is an infectious bacteria disease contracted from animals. Poor hygiene, animal breeding methods and traditional food preparations are the main contributory factors to the proliferation among the Southern Israel Negev Bedouin. The raising of livestock still has great importance in Bedouin life; many maintain flocks of sheep goats and camels by their homes resulting in a higher exposure to Brucellosis.
