Logistics regression analysis of the risk factors affecting the recurrence of Primary nephrotic syndrome in children

Objective To explore the risk factors affecting the recurrence of primary nephrotic syndrome(PNS) in children. Methods The clinical data of 204 children with PNS admitted to 's Hospital Affiliated to Zhengzhou University from January 2015 to December 2017 were collected. All patients were followed up for 1-2 years after discharge. According to PNS recurrence condition in children, they were divided into recurrence group (146 cases) and non-recurrence group (58 cases). Univariate analysis and multivariate logistics regression analysis were performed on clinical features and indexes of children. Results A total of 146 cases were with recurrence among the 204 children with PNS, and the recurrence rate was 71.57%. There were statistically significant differences in 24 h urine protein quantitation, serum IgG, erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), cholesterol levels and edema degree, time required for remission, repeated infection condition, standardized hormonal application after discharge and family PNS nursing knowledge level between recurrence group and non-recurrence group (P<0.05). Multivariate logistics regression analysis showed that high 24 h urine protein quantitation level, high cholesterol level, long time required for first-time treatment remission, repeated infection and low family PNS nursing knowledge level were risk factors for recurrence in children with PNS (P<0.05). Conclusions It is necessary to pay attention to 24 h urine protein quantitation and cholesterol of children with PNS at first diagnosis in clinical, and it is also necessary to select appropriate treatment regimens and courses, actively prevent infections and strengthen family nursing knowledge guidance so as to minimize the recurrence of the disease.
