Minimally invasive cardiac surgery, port-access and robotic surgery

Abstract: The development of minimally invasive surgery is described and details on myocardial revascularisation and valve disease surgery are given. The use of robots to reduce time spent on cardiopulmonary bypass is examined and combinations of techniques for interventional cardiac care are given.
