Interlayer modified two-dimensional layered hexaniobate K4Nb6O17 as anode materials for lithium-ion batteries

Scalable two-dimensional (2D) layered hexaniobate K4Nb6O17 was synthesized by the solid-state approach, and subsequent interlayer-modified niobate was prepared as an anode for lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) to improve the interfacial charge storage and in turn the electrochemical performance. The modified anode exhibited an excellent lithium storage ability of 480 mA h g−1 at the initial lithiation (0.05 A g−1) and delivered a reversible capacity of 133 mA h g−1 after 750 cycles at 0.5 A g−1.
