Research status and clinical potential of comprehensive therapy of the therapeutic vaccine for human papillo mavirus

In recent years, research on therapeutic vaccine for human papillomavirus (HPV)and its clinical trials have been one of hot areas. HPV is the major cause of cervical cancer, in addition to regular immune escape mechanisms of HPV induced tumor cells, HPV also has a special escape mechanisms,this brings more difficulties to the development of therapeutic vaccine. Therefore a comprehensive treatment may be more effective for HPV-induced cervical cancer, and this is considered as the focus of latest research with a higher potential for clinical application. The recent progress on comprehensive therapy studies of the HPV therapeutic vaccine and explores directions worthy of future investigation are summarized in this review.
