Air filtration efficiency testing

We review the purpose of ASTM F 1215-89 and illustrate the utility of the method for determining the efficiency of nonwoven materials used as filtration media as a function of particle size and velocity. We also demonstrate the use of inexpensive computer compatible multichannel analyzer cards and software to enhance the utility of the method. These boards installed in a standard computer provide the ability to determine simultaneously the filtration efficiency for multiple monodispersed particle sizes
