Perihepatic Abscess: a Bizarre Cause!

2020
A 20-year-old gentleman presented to the outpatient department with complains of dull pain in right upper abdomen quadrant for 2 months and 5-kg weight loss over this period. The patient denied any history of jaundice, trauma, or cough. He had taken 6 months of antitubercular therapy (ATT) 5 years back for tubercular pleural effusion. On per abdomen examination, the fullness in right intercostal region (7th and 8th intercostal space in mid clavicular line) was noted. Ultrasound abdomen was suggestive of a collection in perihepatic region. Further evaluation and follow-up unfolded an interesting cause of collection.
