Feste Fahrbahn Bauart Rheda auf Erdkörper: Ergebnis eines Optimierungsprozesses

1995
In Germany, the increasing traffic volume and -speed at high speed railway routes has produced a growing interest on rigid track as a mean to provide a good and durable riding quality associated with low maintenance requirements. The first rigid track system with concrete bearing slab type «Rheda» built in 1972 has since then been showing an ecellent performance with respect to these features. The system for the mechanical construction developed by Dyckerhoff & Widmann and Heilit and Woerner for the application in tunnels was adapted and used for the first time on mayor sections outside of tunnels at the section Breddin-Glowen in 1994 as a part of the improvement of the Berlin-Hamburg railroad
