Recommendations for medical and aesthetic treatment of the skin using laser or intense pulsed light (IPL) systems

Abstract The presented guidelines on the use of laser and intense pulsed light (IPL) systems in treating skin conditions and imperfections reflect the state of laser technology and medical knowledge of its use as of 2006. The recommendations contained herein are based on average requirements for diagnosis and treatment, which in actual practice may vary in individual patients. Recommended dosages and equipment selection may also vary according to treatment situation. These recommendations should thus be critically interpreted while keeping in mind individual patient factors.
