With much attention today on sodium reduction and hypertension, a fact often overlooked is that sodium is only one piece of the hypertension puzzle. Other nutrients can come into play. Potassium, for instance, which plays a role in water balance and blood flow, can blunt the effects of sodium on blood pressure.
