Improvement of Composite Breakwater on Solid Bottom Against Severe Tsunamis

1997
Composite breakwaters are increasingly becoming popular as port structures to cope with enlargement of ports and the weak ground of coastal areas. To determine their effectiveness in withstanding tsunamis, model experiments are performed. Results show that damage to composite breakwaters can be reduced considerably by strengthening the mound surface around the heel of the structures.
