Sakrokoksigeal Anatominin Pilonidal Sinus Etiyolojisindeki Yeri

2015
Abstract Pilonidal sinus  is a chronic disease that many factors blamed in  the  etiopathogenesis of. The aim of this study was to investigate whether different local factors such sacrococcygeal region play a role in the etiology of and to assist the etiology of this disease. Two groups were included in the study. The first pilonidal  sinus group consisted of 44 patients and the second control group were of 118 patients  [57 male, 61 female ]. The  lower abdomen CT images were taken of all the patients and the control group because of different pathologies. The coccyx length and the sacrococcygeal angle were investigated looking at CT results both in the  pilonidal  sinus group and the control group. The results were compared statistically. No significant relationship was found between the presence of the disease and the coccyx length  [p = 0.889 ] and the sacrococcygeal angle  [p = 0.574 ]. The sacrococcygeal angle  and the coccyx length were not related with the pilonidal sinus disease. Key words: Pilonidal sinus, Etiology, coccyx length, sacrococcygeal angle.
