: Solar urticaria (SU) is a rare type of inducible urticaria (IU) characterized by the sudden appearance of erythema, wheals and pruritus in photo-exposed areas within few minutes of exposure to UV-light.1 Light waves within the spectrum of visible light or ultraviolet UVA represent the most frequent trigger for SU, thus the disorder may be perennial, leading to avoidance of outdoor activities and severe impact on the patients' quality of life.
