EVALUATION OF SINGLE-USE PACKS OF HOSPITAL DISINFECTANTS

1973
Abstract Bacterial contamination of disinfectant stock bottles is an infection hazard. To avoid it, all bottles of disinfectant were removed from hospital wards and single-use packs of disinfectants were supplied instead. The change was labour-saving and allowed closer control over the use of disinfectants. There was no increase in cost. The conclusion was that the most reliable and convenient means of preventing contamination of disinfectants is a single-use pack system and that disinfectant stock bottles should be abolished from hospital wards.
