Suitable treatment of the delayed pregnancy

2005
Objective To explore the effect of delayed pregnancy on perineonate and its suitable treatment. Methods We collected the clinical data of 318 patients with delayed pregnancy in our hospital from January 2002 to April 2004.and 318 patients with normal pregnancy were selected randomly as control group. Results For the delayed pregnancy group,74 cases were at placental maturity Ⅲ degree,69 cases of oligohydramnios,71 cases at amniotic fluid turbidity Ⅱ-Ⅲ degree,79 cases of fetal distress,41 cases of neonatal asphyxia,51 cases delivered from the vaginae,139 cases of cesarean section. The occurance rates of placental maturity Ⅲ dgree, oligohydramnios, amniotic fluid turbidity Ⅱ-Ⅲ degree, fetal distress, neonatal asphyxia, and cesarean section were significantly higher than those in normal pregnancy group (P0.01).As to large-for-dates infants and low birth weight infants, there were no significant difference (P0.05).Conclusion More dangerous situations would occur to the fetus resulting from decreasing function of placenta in delayed pregnancy. The incidence of delayed pregnancy will be decreased and mother with fetus will be safer by close monitor during antepartum and intrapartum period.
