Application of fast track surgery technique in senile patients with colorectal cancer

Objective To evaluate the nursing technic of fast track surgery in senile patients with colorectal cancer. Methods 68 patients with colorectal cancer who underwent surgery were randomly divided into the intervention group and the control group.The nursing technic of fast track surgery were applied in the intervention group, while the conventional nursing were taken in the control group. Results Compared with the conventional nursing, the application of fast track surgery nursing can significantly shorten the duration of passing flatus and defecation, and decrease the complication rate.Besides, the fast track surgery nursing can provide better perioperative nutritional status, reduce the length of hospital stay and expense. Conclusion Fast track surgery nursing technic is safe and effective for reducing hospital stay and getting better recovery following colorectal surgery.
