Percutaneous Repair of the Closed Ruptured Achilles Tendon

1992
Eighteen cases with a closed ruptured Achilles tendon were repaired by percutaneous suturing. All cases obtained satisfactory results with mormal function of the ankle joint. No reruptures were reported. We concluded that repair by percutaneous suturing was more promising than surgical repair or conservative therapy alone due to good cosmetic results, tendon continuity restoration and no rerupturing.
