The Diagnosis of dementia

1973
Some clinical syndromes in which dementia is a presenting or prominent feature are discussed and illustrated by case histories of patients investigated in the Department of Neurology at the Royal Victoria and Claremont Street Hospitals, Belfast. Recent technical developments enable many of these conditions to be recognised earlier and more surely than heretofore. Early diagnosis and treatment is of particular importance in reversible conditions and in cases in which dementia is associated with a benign cerebral lesion, particularly meningioma.
