Clinical observation on cytokine-induced killer cells combined with chemotherapy in treatment of advanced ovarian cancer

2013
Objective: To evaluate the curative effect and adverse reactions of cytokine- induced killer( CIK) cells combined with chemotherapy in treatment of advanced ovarian cancer and the impact on quality of life( QOL) of patients. Methods: Sixty- eight patients with advanced ovarian cancer were randomly divided into simple chemotherapy group( 37 patients) and combined treatment group( 31 patients),the patients in simple chemotherapy group were treated with TC protocol, three weeks were designed as one course of treatment; while the patients in combined treatment group were treated with CIK cells and chemotherapy; after at least two courses of treatment, the curative effects were evaluated; the curative effects, immune functions, adverse reactions, and QOLs in the two groups were observed. Results: After two courses of treatment, the levels of CD3+and CD4+/ CD8+in peripheral blood of combined treatment group were statistically significantly higher than those in simple chemotherapy group( P 0. 05); the disease control rates in the two groups were 75. 6% and 87. 1%,respectively,there was statistically significant difference between the two groups( P 0. 05),progression- free- survival( PFS) in combined treatment group was longer than that in simple chemotherapy group by 2. 5 months; the improvement of AOL in combined treatment group was superior to simple chemotherapy group, there was statistically significant difference in the percentage of decrease of Karnofsky score between the two groups( P 0. 05); the decreasing amplitudes of hemoglobin, white blood cells and platelet in combined treatment group were statistically significantly lower than those in simple chemotherapy group( P 0. 05).
