Thermionic emission of positive ions from mono-and polycrystalline potassium bromide
2002
The temperature dependences of the thermionic currents I created by K + ions emitted from the surface of poly- (697-975 K) and monocrystalline (600-920 K) potassium bromide were measured by the electrometric and mass-spectrometric methods, respectively. For monocrystals, the 1nl-1/T dependence exhibits a maximum and a minimum. For polycrystalline samples, a monotonic dependence with an inflection point was observed. The results were interpreted based on a surface charge model developed for halides of alkali metals.
