Handicapped children and youth in the United Kingdom

1981
As in other countries where acute illnesses due to malnutrition and infection have almost disappeared, we are able to see the problems of the handicapped more clearly than ever before, and consequently we are giving more attention to them. There have been no dramatic changes in the numbers of the handicapped in recent years, but notifications to official registers rose from 38.4 in 1964 to 122.5 per 100 000 in 1975 as a result of increased concern for the handicapped.
