Porencefalia şi hidranencefalia la animale − aspecte imagistice şi clinice

2018
Clinical and imagistic aspects in congenital chistic lesions of the brain and the abnormal development of cerebral hemispheres have been described both in human and veterinary medicine. From the classification point of view, two types of tissue defects are described: developmental and encephaloclastic. Porencephaly and hydranencephaly are expressed by forming cerebral cavities that communicate with subarachnoid space and/or lateral ventricles after the destruction of the fetal or perinatal brain. Clinical signs, both in humans and animals, depend to a large extent on the severity and location of the lesions. The diagnosis of porencephaly and hydranencephaly is based on the identification of clinical features, supplemented with imaging aspects of the brain (MRI).
