Canary in the Midline? Earliest Marker of Brain Injury in Repetitive Sports Related Concussion (SRC).

2021
In science and medicine, resolving controversies often begins with technological improvements in which the unobservable becomes measurable and quantifiable. Until recent advances in neuroimaging, in vivo neuropathology associated with mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) was neither measurable nor observable, particularly in sports-related concussion (SRC). Because conventional MRI is typically negative in SRC, this has led to debate, especially with repeated concussion.1
