Analysis on the risk factors of nosocomial infection.

2010
[Objective] To explore the incidence of nosocomial infection(NI)and its risk factors in our hospital, and can offer the evidence of quality control and target surveillance of NI.[Methods] the prevalence of hospital infection and its risk factors were investigated every month from January to December 2008,and the result was statistic analyzed.[Results] The average prevalence rate of NI and case prevalence rate were 3.89% and 4.19%,respectively.The top five sites of NI were respiratory system, urinary system, oral cavity, blood and surgical incision. The top five departments in sequence were ICU,medical department, surgical department, department of oncology, and pediatrics department. The analysis of multivariate un-conditional logistic regression showed that male, age over 60-year,basic diseases, invasive procedures including arterio-ve-nous cannulation, ventilator, urinary catheterization, gastric intubation and tracheotomy were significantly associated with the increased risk of NI.[Conclusion] Male, age over 60-year,invasive procedures, basic diseases are risk factors of NI.Target surveillance of NI should be established for those factors.
