NEW DATA OF BLOOD TRANSFUSION IMPORTANCE IN PATHOLOGY

2018
Blood transfusion is a very important aspect of clinical hematology. An essential particularity is the correctly use of blood products because it can cause immediate or delayed complications. Transfusion security and efficiency requires integrated strategies and the purpose of the transfusion is to provide the patient with blood components to improve their hematologic status. From a single total blood donation can be obtained multiple type of blood components. Transfusion centers are capable of separating plasma erythrocytes, or of other products such as platelet concentrates, or cryoprecipitate named 'labile blood products'. On the other side plasma derivates, are made by fractionation of plasma. All the blood components to bring benefit must be viable when transfused. The blood or the resulting compounds must be preserved, transported and stored under conditions that meet quality criteria and follow the standardized procedures.
