Automotive air control system

2013
A vehicle climate control system includes a Warmeadsorptionswarmepumpe, which is driven by engine exhaust heat, the heat pump comprises two adsorbers, the switch asynchronously between adsorption and Desorptionsmodi, each adsorber wick chambers with a corresponding anti-freeze medium tank containing several refrigerant is coupled. Cold heat transfer fluid (HTF) flows through the adsorber during the adsorption, causing evaporation of refrigerant from the wick chambers whereby cryoprotectant is cooled, whereas hot HTF flows through the adsorber during desorption mode, causing condensation of refrigerant to the wick chambers whereby antifreeze is heated. In this way, the Warmeadsorptionswarmepumpe cabin air can condition regardless of engine coolant and without exerting a load on the engine.
