Utilisation Of Variable Rate Intravenous Insulin Infusion

Acute complication manifested in T2DM is severe or acute hyperglycaemia and such manifestation often requires hospitalization. Inpatient management usually involves insulin therapy. Despite numerous drawbacks, variable rate intravenous insulin infusion is always utilized instead of basal bolus insulin therapy which is a more appropriate therapy to use. To date, the study on treating severe or acute hyperglycaemia is limited.
